Monovision Leaders

Tuesday 25 August 2009 at 2:57 pm

Leaders operate in three dimensions, the past, present and future.  They live in the present, applying lessons learned from the past and vision of the future.  To operate effectively in 3-D a leader needs great depth perception.  I have a better understanding of what depth perception means to our physical eyesight and it is fascinating.

How do you persuade people to do what you want?  Do you give hints about what you want them to do or give specific instructions?  Hints, are used when you want someone to give you a gift that you do not want him or her thinking you are asking for, right?  If the hint is too subtle you run the risk of not getting the gift.  A kid does not take that chance.  In fact, they will show you where you can buy it and drag you to the store to get it.  In the workplace when the boss hints, it is called a suggestion.
